Colombia Salsa Night 2018

30 November 2018 7:00pm–11:00pm

World Headquarters, Carliol Square, Newcastle upon Tyne NE1 6UF

Colombia remains the most dangerous country in the world to be a trade unionist or social movement leader. Despite the signing of the peace accord, 2017 was the deadliest year on record with more than 120 social leaders being murdered by contract killers and right-wing paramilitaries.

The women sugarcane committee has helped a large number of women access different communities, learn about human rights, organising and craft-making skills, which enable them to provide for their families.

The group is a vital network for women in the area standing up for their human rights.

All proceeds raised will go towards maintaining a safe location for their activities and materials for their campaigning work.

Please note, due to licensing this event is for persons 18+
