Join our team of LGPS Champions and take the stress out of the word ‘Pension’ for you and other UNISON members and understand the importance of our members pensions.
As a Penson Champion you will be provided with training.
What do Pension Champions do?
LGPS Champions: Provide members with new updates, signpost members to local reports, offer basic advice about the scheme and act as a contact with Regional LGPS Lead.
How do I become a LGPS Champion?
We don’t expect you to be an expert from day one, we’ll train you to have a good understanding of the LGPS, however you’ll be supported all the way by one of our organisers from your Regional Office.
To learn more about becoming a rep, you can take part in some of our taster webinars.
Although there is legally no training required your branch may ask you to undertake some training. Pension Champions are entitled to time off for training. Your branch will help in agreeing the time off from your employer.
