This course is aimed at trained and active representatives and branch officers. It is designed as an introduction to equality in the branch.

The course aims and objectives are;

  • The course will enable participants to:
  • Understand the roles of the Branch Equalities Co-ordinator, Equality Reps and Self-Organised Groups officers.
  • To improve their knowledge of the tools you can use to tackle discrimination and promote equality.
  • Develop their understanding of equality in UNISON.
  • Promote equality organising in their workplace and branch and contribute to the Branch Development Plan.
  • Develop realistic action plans
