The Colombian people’s struggle for peace – 20th October

Earlier this month Colombians voted against a peace agreement between the government and FARC guerrillas, leaving the peace process in limbo and sending the country into a political crisis.

UNISON Northern have a long history of working with our comrades in the indigenous communities in Colombia and have organised an event which is taking place on Thursday 20thOctober at 6.00 pm in the Barbara Strang Teaching Centre, Newcastle University.

Key speakers include Berenice Celeita, Director of human rights organisation Nomadesc along with Clare Williams UNISON Regional Secretary.  Come along and hear directly from Berenice who has dedicated her life to working with those people most affected by the Colombian armed and social conflict.
